Open core
Open where lock-in matters. Paid where accountability matters.
The Astrolift AI and Zentinelle AI cores are MIT-licensed. Inspect them, fork them, and self-host them. Calliope AI Workbench is commercial. Support, implementation, and Forward-Deployed Engineering are how teams add an accountable operating relationship around the stack.
The model
The license is not the operating model.
The MIT cores are useful on their own. A technical team can run Astrolift AI for deployment and runtime or Zentinelle AI for agent observability and policy without buying a software license from Calliope AI.
What open source does not decide is who integrates the product into your environment, responds when it fails, maintains the deployment, answers the security questionnaire, or helps the team operate it well. That accountability is the commercial relationship.
Calliope AI Workbench is a separate commercial product. It gives builders the sanctioned daily environment that the operating cores do not attempt to be.
